Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit is one of my favorite racing game ever. Racing games are my thing and this is a lot of fun, even when you've won Knockout mode, Tournament mode,caught all 6 speeders on all 9 tracks,and have become "Most Wanted" (eluded the cops on all 9 tracks).
my advice is use the 2 day free online trial if you got it used or are borrowing, see how you like it Chances are you will, now if you bought it you will have afree online pass Online adds that much needed competitiveness beside the taunting can be fun as well as showing others how you can do and play as a team in Hot pursuit mode

Hero. 1) You have to have NFS-Hot-Pursuit-Online-Pass. Inside of your game’s packaging, you should find an insert with the online pass code printed on it. There's no LAN play on this one, as almost all the latest EA games. If you want to play online you'll need internet connection. joder666 is correct. You can't LAN this game. There is only an option for online. There are also only 2 menu's that don't require an internet connection, and that is career mode and settings.
